Project – Walter Payton High School
Overview – The requirements for this job included removing existing parking surface, lighting fixtures, landscaping, and fencing in order to excavate approximately 8000 tons of soil for the new three story Chicago Public School. The Scope of Work also included a steel shoring system installed during the winter weather, drilling twenty eight 90 foot deep caissons due to poor soil bearing capacity as well as the installation of all grade beams and foundations. This work was completed in below zero temperatures and ready for the vertical contractor when Spring arrived.
